Trapped moisture causing roof timber rot
Why it happens here
Harbour's maritime climate means high humidity and driving rain. When spray foam is applied to the underside of a roof, it seals the timbers and prevents them from drying out. Moisture from inside the house also gets trapped, leading to rot.
Our approach
We remove the foam, inspect the timbers, and replace any that are rotten. We then fit a breathable vapour barrier and improve ventilation so the roof can dry naturally. This stops the rot from returning.
